6 Southend - Sutton Road - Royston Avenue - Cokefield Avenue - Garon Park

Better Queensway work starts 31/10/2025 until at least January 2027. Expect delays in the Southend area during this time. Some services may be curtailed short of their usual terminals to maintain service reliability.

Better Queensway work starts 31/10/2025 until at least January 2027. As part of this, the Queensway Underpass will be PERMANENTLY CLOSED after 08/12/2025, with the northern slip roads closed (except for access from Short Street) until at least January 2027. Work on the Porters Grange Roundabout (above Queensway) will also start around this time. Expect delays on all of these routes.

Due to Better Queensway works, buses that usually use Sutton Road or Southchurch Road will be on diversion after December 8. Buses on route 6 will use stops VK (Victoria Station), VR (Whitegate Road) and E (Southend Travel Centre) for buses leaving Southend. Stop VQ (Southchurch Road) will NOT be served during this time. Buses going to Southend will serve Southend Travel Centre (stop Y) first before continuing to Whitegate Road and onward to Belfairs as service 29.
